In recognition of the importance of winter markets, and because we are always striving to find ways to best service our clients, we recently started assisting clients with their search for properties in St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.

A truly beautiful two nation island famed for its breathtaking scenery, there are some fantastic properties to own and the market has been given a boost through the ‘Citizenship by Investment’ program which provides financial citizenship, and full residency, to international investors who spend more than $350,000. With idyllic shorelines and lush rainforests, the tiny nation of St Kitts and Nevis really is a tropical paradise and easily accessed from the US, the UK and continental Europe.

For golfers, there is a championship course and for intrepid explorers, there are many walks, both on and off the beaten tracks, all of which supply plenty of exotic scenery.  Whilst the sugar industry remained important until as recently as 2005, as demonstrated by the St Kitts Scenic Railway which journeys for some 18 miles along the path used to transport cane, the emphasis now is very much on tourism.  In addition to the Marriott resort and casino, there are several luxury property developments taking shape which serves to prove the increasing popularity of this charming island.

This custom built villa, 22 San Cristobal, enjoys expansive views of the harbour and St. Anthony’s Peak.  With timber finishes and wood flooring, the accommodation includes a lounge and open kitchen/dining room with four bedrooms.  As you would expect, the outside space is just as important and in addition to a veranda with swimming pool, there is a pool deck and detached gazebo perfect for al fresco dining.   If you are willing to take on more of a project, there is this waterfront villa with an approved scheme in place for 12 cottages and 6 swimming pools.

If you need another reason to visit this island country, the end of June heralds the arrival of their renowned music festival which takes place at the Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, the capital of the St Kitts.   Established over 20 years ago, the festival serves to bring the community together along with any visiting guests in an atmosphere of fun and laid back harmony.  Acts this year will include Smokey  Robinson, French Montana and other A-list musicians all of whom attract music lovers from as far afield as the US, Canada and Europe.

If you can’t face the flight of over 10 hours, there are music offerings  closer to home with Ibiza hosting not just one festival but a huge range of parties at several venues throughout the months of June through to September.

June signals the moment when the party season gets into full swing, hosted at the super clubs, in full force, you will literally be spoilt for choice with a range of top class international DJs.

Beaches are busy but not too crowded so you will be able to find somewhere to rest your weary head, after a heavy night of partying, and catch up on some sleep under the sun in preparation for your next big night.  If you are thinking about buying a property on the island, there are two very different vibes with authentic, modernised fincas inland such as this villa in the Sant Josep countryside.   If more contemporary is your thing, you will be entranced by this stunning villa located in Puig d’en Allis on the West Coast with panoramic sea views.

However you choose to spend your free time, Unique Living can help you find and secure the perfect property to complement your travels, so please be in touch and let me know how we can help you fulfil your lifestyle ambitions.
