Unique Living
July 5th, 2019 | by Serge Cowan

We are all in search of ‘La Dolce Vita’, literally translated as ‘the sweet life’ and over 58 million tourists, the number who visited Italy in 2018, can’t be wrong.

Brimming with culture, outstanding food, history and fashion, Italy really is the perfect destination for the more discerning traveller seeking the sun and more UNESCO World Heritage sites than any other country in the world.

Choose between Sardinia with its stunning Mediterranean coastlines and idyllic beaches and Tuscany with its diverse landscapes and huge influence on the history of art and science.   If that’s not enough of a reason to visit, the Lucca Summer Festival started with a performance by Take That last Friday 28th June 2019 and will continue with regular shows until the end of July when Sting will perform in the main square of Lucca on Monday 29th July.

Held every year since 1998, the event is considered one of the most important music festivals in Italy with concerts usually held in one of the historic piazzas unless numbers dictate that the venue has to be larger and one of the soccer stadiums, in Lucca or Viareggio, is used as an alternative.

Known throughout Italy for the medieval city walls that still encircle the majority of its old town, Lucca offers a vast choice of attractions from the Cathedral in the Piazza San Martino to the Piazza dell Anfiteatro that was once a Roman Amphitheatre.  Upon visiting, if you are truly entranced, and many are, you may be interested in buying your own bolthole and where could be more perfect than this lovely villa for sale in Lucca with panoramic countryside views? There is also a guesthouse and even a third house so you will have plenty of space regardless of how many visitors descend upon you.

If you are partial to a glass or two of Chianti, you may be more drawn to the place that gave the famous red wine its name, in which case we can offer you this historic villa for sale in Chianti with its own vineyard.

No less beautiful is the other jewel in Italy’s crown, Sardinia. Increasingly popular due to its ease of accessibility and stunning vistas, locations include Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda where this unique villa for sale in Sardinia is found on the northeast coast.  Complemented by five acres of private land, other features include an outdoor gym and helipad and the property comes fully staffed with a chef and housekeeper.

As with all of our destinations, we are always ready to help you find and then buy your perfect property.  We have included a link to the current advice for buying a property in Italy but if you would prefer to discuss your questions, please reach out to me or book a telephone call.  To quote the famous opera composer Giuseppe Verdi,  ‘You may have the universe if I may have Italy’.
